For my great uncle

I didn’t know you,

Only your name.

I was cut off,

From all family things.

In death I might call,

My name you might learn.

And now you join them,

In the Halls of our fathers.

Now feasting and drinking,

You rest with our mothers.

Now with them you are,

Now you I might know.

I call your name,

Thomas my elder.

I call for your wisdom,

Guidance and Courage.

I call out your name,

That mine you might learn.
